Everyone has experienced imposter syndrome at some point in their life.
Its our mind's cruel way of acknowledging there is room to grow.
Imposter syndrome is ok, but when it takes over your mind you need to regain control.
Use these escape hatches to bring your mind back to reality.
Learn to break the endless mental loop
This is the toughest step to implement but the most rewarding once you do.
We often find our minds wandering, telling us false narratives that simply aren't true. Once you're able to track when this is happening you can realign with your mind. I've found that going for a walk, listening to music, and medidating works wonders.
Start breaking that negative loop and focus your attention elsewhere.
Don't compare yourself to others - instead, compare to the you of 6 months ago
Think back, picture who you were as a person 6 months ago.
There are a ton of memories that come to mind, right? All of those had an impact on the person you are today. There's no sense comparing yourself to others as they've had a completely different set of experiences than you.
With time you'll gain new experiences that will build towards where you want to be in the next 6 months.
Write down your thoughts
The next time you catch yourself slipping into the endless loop, write down some bullet points on what you're feeling.
Manifesting these thoughts onto paper is a powerful tool. It makes room in our brains for more thoughts to blossom. It also allows for a more objective view over the issue when you're looking at it physically on paper.
Crack open your notes app and get to writing.
